ABOUT ME

Statia R. Tyner was born on March 6, 1997 (22 y/o) in Los Angeles, CA. Statia has had a passion for theatre since a young age, but her first love is dance. She has been dancing for 11 years and teaching for 4 years. Statia had dance training growing up in Jazz, Modern, Ballet and Hip-Hop which is her favorite. She has performed all over the state of California including Los Angeles, Oakland, San Diego, Irvine, Costa Mesa and Bakersfield, she's also danced locally in Carrollton, Atlanta and Valdosta. As a young girl, Statia participated in many different plays at church and school and as she got older, she began to do local/community theatre."God's Trombones", "Fame", "MacBeth"and "Lion King: The Musical", are a few of the shows she's been apart of. In 2017, Statia joined Manifest Praise Dance Company based in Atlanta, GA. Since joining MPDC, she has grown spiritually and as a liturgical/praise dancer. She is currently a senior at the Illustrious Clark Atlanta University and will graduate in May of 2019. It was always her dream to attend Clark Atlanta and after completing 4 years she will graduate with Latin Honors and a Bachelors in Theatre Arts. Upon completion at Clark Atlanta, Statia plans to attend California Institute of the Arts to receive a Masters degree in Choreography. In the future, Statia will start her own dance company and build her own dance studio. Her company will incorporate both theatre and dance and she will use her company/studio to impact and give back to her community. Statia is a firm believer that with God at the center of your life, anything is possible.
